Light fitting installation replaces old or tired lights with new pendants, chandeliers, wall lights or ceiling fittings. We fit lights across Manchester, safely secured, earthed and tested.

A ceiling rose and plasterboard alone can't hold a heavy chandelier. We check the weight of the fitting and fix it to a joist or a timber noggin added between joists, so it stays secure. Long drops are measured so the light hangs at the right height.
Metal light fittings usually need an earth connection, while double-insulated fittings don't. Older lighting circuits sometimes lack an earth wire. We check the circuit before fitting and explain the options if your wiring isn't suitable for the light you've chosen.
Lights in bathrooms and outside need an IP rating to keep water out, and the rating depends on where the fitting sits. We check the rating on your chosen light and make sure the circuit has RCD protection before installing it.
Tell us what fittings you're installing and send a link or photo if you can, so we can check their weight, type and IP rating. We'll let you know about any extra work, such as a new fixing or wiring update, and give you a free quote.
On the day, we isolate the lighting circuit, remove the old fitting and check the wiring. We secure the new fitting, connect it and test the circuit before switching the power back on. We take away any packaging and leave you a certificate for the work.
Call or send us a message about the job. We'll get back to you the same day to arrange a visit.

Yes. We check the weight of the chandelier and the ceiling above, then fix it to a joist or add a timber support between joists so it's held securely. For very heavy fittings in high ceilings, we may need access equipment, which we'll include in the quote.
Usually several. Swapping straightforward fittings on an existing circuit takes around 30 minutes to an hour each, depending on access and the fitting. Heavier or more complex lights take longer. Give us a list and we'll estimate the time when we quote.
Older lighting circuits sometimes have no earth, or use wiring colours and connections that don't match the new fitting. Some fittings also need a neutral at the switch. We check the circuit and explain the safest way to connect the light you've chosen.
Replacing a fitting on an existing circuit isn't notifiable, but the work should still be tested. We test the circuit after fitting and can provide a Minor Works Certificate, which is useful for your records and when you sell your home.
