Cooker and hob installation connects your new electric oven, range or induction hob safely to the right circuit. We install cookers and hobs across Manchester, testing everything before you start cooking.

Most electric cookers and induction hobs need their own circuit with the right cable and breaker. We check the rating of your new appliance against the existing circuit, as a powerful induction hob or range cooker may need an upgrade before it's connected.
A cooker usually connects to a cooker outlet behind it, controlled by a double-pole switch on the wall nearby. Some ovens and hobs plug into a switched fused spur instead. We fit the right connection for each appliance, following the maker's instructions.
Built-in ovens and hobs are often wired separately. Depending on their combined rating, they can share one cooker circuit or need two. We plan the connections so both can be isolated safely for cleaning or servicing later, and nothing is left overloaded.
Before the visit, send us the model numbers or power ratings of your new appliances. We check them against your existing cooker circuit and consumer unit, and let you know if any upgrade is needed. You get a free, no-obligation quote.
On the day, we disconnect the old appliance, check the cable and outlet, and connect the new cooker or hob. If your kitchen fitter is cutting the worktop for a hob, we work around them. Finally, we test the circuit and check each appliance powers up correctly.
Call or send us a message about the job. We'll get back to you the same day to arrange a visit.
An electrician looks at the work and gives you a free, no-obligation quote before anything starts.
We complete the job, test everything we've worked on and give you the certificate for your records.
Some smaller built-in ovens can, if the maker allows it and the rating is under 13 amps. Most freestanding cookers, range cookers and induction hobs need a dedicated cooker circuit. Check the instructions, or send us the model number and we'll tell you what's needed.
Often it does. Induction hobs can draw a lot of power, and older cooker circuits may not have the right cable or breaker. We check the hob's rating against your existing circuit. If an upgrade is needed, we quote for it before connecting anything.
Connecting a new cooker to an existing outlet usually takes around an hour. If a new circuit or cooker switch is needed, allow half a day or more. We'll confirm the time when we quote, so you can plan around being without your oven.
Yes. If your new kitchen layout puts the cooker or hob somewhere else, we can move the cooker outlet and switch to suit. This is usually done at first fix, before the units and worktops go in, so it's worth booking us early in the project.
